The Operator Spine Handle is a K9 collar with an integrated handle, specially developed for heavy-duty operational use. It is designed for professional dog handlers who prefer a single-layer construction without additional stiffening elements, but refuse to compromise on load capacity.
For the Operator Spine collars, we exclusively process heavy-duty Type 13 nylon webbing from MMI Textiles in compliance with MIL-W-4088 and D-RING COBRA® PRO STYLE buckles from AustriAlpin. The 18 kN-rated buckle meets all requirements of the ANSI Z359.12-2019 standard. Accidental opening during operations is impossible, as the locking mechanism can only be opened when completely unloaded and by pressing both clips simultaneously. Due to the thickness of the Type 13 webbing and the robust AustriAlpin slider, the infinitely adjusted size will not slip on its own, even under heavy tension.
The handle is an inherent structural part of the collar. Due to its flat profile, it stays snug against the collar but remains easy to grip, even when wearing gloves. The scope of delivery also includes a 100 mm wide patch sleeve. This provides the perfect surface for ID or name patches and can be easily attached to the collar when needed.

D-RING COBRA® BUCKLE
The D-RING COBRA® PRO STYLE with an 18 kN breaking load meets the highest safety standards according to ANSI Z359.12-2019. Built for real operational conditions: it can only be opened when completely unloaded and by pressing both clips simultaneously—accidental opening during operations is completely excluded.
STAINLESS STEEL D-RING
The stainless steel D-ring is integrated directly into the main body of the buckle. This construction of the D-RING COBRA® PRO STYLE 18 kN ensures central positioning of the D-ring and causes the buckle to rotate backward under tension—keeping it securely in place without interfering with the dog's work.
INTEGRATED LOW-PROFILE HANDLE
The handle on the Operator Spine is far more than just a sewn-on feature—it is a structural component of the entire collar architecture. Due to the integrated construction and the 10 cm width, the design achieves an extremely flat profile that hugs the collar perfectly and does not protrude excessively in daily use. Despite the flat design, the handle remains intuitive to grip at any time thanks to its ergonomic dimensioning—even with operational gloves or under stress. It guarantees full control in critical moments, while the flat profile minimizes the risk of getting caught in dense brush or tight spaces.
PATCH SLEEVE
The 100 mm wide patch sleeve offers the perfect surface for name tapes, ID patches, or markings. What makes this design special is its superior flexibility compared to permanently sewn-on loop fields: the sleeve is manufactured from rugged 500D Cordura and can be easily attached to the collar when needed—and just as quickly removed when a clean appearance is required. Another advantage of this design is that the sleeve can be easily replaced once the loop surface wears out after years of intensive use. This ensures your collar remains fully operational for years to come.
